About the site

This blog site is primarily for QUT Creative Industries Research Students – PhD, Doctor of Creative Industries and Masters. As well as sharing knowledge about our diverse research projects, activities and achievements, it provides information about critical milestones and some tips to successfully navigate them.

While this blog is edited by Evonne Miller (Associate Professor & Director of Research Training, Creative Industries, QUT and co-editor of The Supervision Whisperers), the site is designed to be collaborative and contributions/suggestions from HDR students and supervisors are welcomed. If you are interested, email me (e.miller@qut.edu.au), preferably with a sample piece (always polite and professional) of less than 800 words – it could be on your creative industries research project or general learnings about doing a research thesis.

You can follow us on Facebook (CreativeResearchers) and Twitter: @creativephds   I know creative researchers are Masters and DCI students too BUT that was the closest twitter handle I could get. You are free to reproduce any posts through the Creative Commons “Attribution-non commercial-sharealike” license. Most of the photos on this site are copyright free and sourced from Morguefile, with others taken by me or the blog authors.

P.S. So you know who I am and what I look like, here is a photo of me (Evonne).  In terms of my own research, I am primarily a qualitative researcher in QUT’s School of Design, using participatory visual and creative arts (e.g., photovoice, poetry, art/drawing, storytelling etc) to better understand, improve and communicate the lived experience (primarily of older people living in aged care).
